District 5 Town Hall Meeting hosted by Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson
Update on the Construction of
the New East DeKalb Senior Center
Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson is proud to announce the next steps in the construction of the East DeKalb Senior Center (Bruce Street).
A contractor has been selected and the planning of a “virtual groundbreaking” is now taking place.
Construction is expected to being soon. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.

CEO THURMOND APPOINTS PERMANENT CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER
DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond has appointed Cathryn G. Horner the permanent chief procurement officer and head of the county’s Purchasing and Contracting Department. Horner had been serving as interim chief procurement officer since November 2019. READ MORE
DCTV EARNS SEVERAL PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS
DeKalb County Television (DCTV), Channel 23, the county’s government access station, announces receiving several prestigious awards for programming and production excellence.
Under the direction of Diamond Miller Lewis, DCTV received two Silver awards in the information and news categories and one Bronze award in the government relations category in the 41st Telly Awards. READ MORE

County surpasses federal and state standards
DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has released the 2020 Drinking Water Quality Report, also referred to as a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR).
