Welcoming our Newest Addition to District 5 !
A warm welcome to District 5’s new little bundle of joy, Demetrius E. McCoy, Jr.
He is such a precious little fella! Congratulations to my Chief of Staff Demetrius and his wife Mariah on their new addition to the family.
WorkSource DeKalb Youth Program Provides Job Readiness Training
DECATUR, Ga. – Fifteen participants recently graduated from WorkSource DeKalb Youth Program’s inaugural job readiness and life skills training class on Nov. 2. The three-week program provided formal curriculum-based job readiness and life skills training to eligible Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act funded program participants, who were taught how to obtain and maintain long-term employment.

November Schedule
DECATUR, Ga. – WorkSource DeKalb announces its Mobile Career Center schedule for November. The center will be stationed at locations throughout DeKalb County to help put DeKalb County citizens back to work.

Transit Master Plan Stakeholder Survey

DeKalb Offers Free Bulky Item Curbside Collection
DECATUR, Ga. – The DeKalb County Sanitation Division will offer free residential bulky item curbside collection every Friday and Saturday from November 30, 2018, through December 22, 2018, as part of the Operation Holiday Clean Sweep 2018 campaign.
DeKalb Provides $2 Million Loan to Support Senior Housing
Partnership funds affordable housing project near MARTA station
DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb County provided $2.2 million in funding to support the development of Columbia Senior Residences at Decatur East, an affordable senior housing complex located near the Avondale MARTA station.
Lucious Sanders Recreation Center to Host Coat Drive
DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs is accepting new or gently used coats for its first coat drive now until Friday,November 30, 2018.
DeKalb Offers Residents Free Flood Plain Information
DECATUR, Ga. – The DeKalb County Roads and Drainage Division provides general flood plain information free of charge to county residents. The county participates in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program “Community Rating System” and offers residents information about flood hazards, prevention and mitigation.
