District 5 is proud to be home to an abundance of beautiful green spaces such as Arabia Mountain, Flat Rock Archives and South River as well as useful resources such as Lou Walker Senior Center, DeKalb Medical Center Hillandale, Georgia Piedmont Technical College- South Dekalb Campus and The Mall at Stonecrest.
District 5 is committed to attracting businesses that sustain the community.
District 5 fully supports existing businesses and entrepreneurs as we strengthen our counties resources such as Decide DeKalb, DeKalb Office of Economic Development, Workforce Training, and the Entrepreneur & Small Business Resource Center.
Started by Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson, District 5 Beautification Committee partners with DeKalb’s County Wide Beautification effort, Keep DeKalb Beautiful. We welcome community associations, fraternal organizations, faith groups, neighborhood associations & businesses to join the partnership in enhancing the beauty of our community.
The 5th district is home to the Lithonia Senior Center and Lou Walker Senior Center where seniors have access to programs and facilities which help them lead a healthy active and comfortable lives.
