Demetrius McCoy, Sr.
A native of Decatur, Georgia. McCoy completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the “Illustrious Paine College” in Augusta, Georgia. During his undergraduate years, Demetrius is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In 2015, Demetrius completed his Master of Science degree from Brenau University in Organizational Leadership. McCoy is currently studying for his Ph.D. in Public Policy at Liberty University.
Demetrius began his public service career advocating for Veterans of Georgia in the Office of Congressman John Barrow where he served as a Constituent Services Liaison. Demetrius has served the citizens of DeKalb County for 10 years, having served in the Office of the Chief Executive and currently as the Chief of Staff for Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson.
Demetrius is married to the love of his life, Dr. Mariah Crew McCoy. The couple have two sons, Demetrius Jr. and Malik Chase.
Demetrius Pinkett
Demetrius Pinkett, born in Atlanta, GA has lived in DeKalb County for 20+ years. He graduated from Cedar Grove High School , Home of the Saints! Demetrius went on to complete his Bachelor of Science at Benedict College, where he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc, Sigma Alpha Pi Leadership & Honor Society and M.A.L.E.S. In 2016, Demetrius was selected to participate in Benedict College Foreign Exchange Student Program, where he resided in Buenaventura, Colombia, South America for 4 months. His visit to Buenaventura has motivated him to strive for greatness and to refrain from making excuses.
Before graduating, Demetrius found a passion for public service, he began his journey of service by canvassing for elected officials like Hillary Clinton and was later selected as an Ambassador for Barack Obama’s Town Hall at Allen University. After Graduating, Demetrius continued his career of service by working for his family nonprofit and Transitional House, Hope 4 Haven House and later creating a nonprofit of his own. Demetrius began his career with DeKalb County as an intern for Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson and now serves as the Director of Constituent Services. Currently, he is pursuing his Masters of Public Administration with a Specialty in Nonprofit Management at NCU, North Central University. Demetrius believes that anything you desire can be achieved when you put forth the right effort, have self-confidence and keep faith.

London Hornsby
London Hornsby, an Atlanta native, is a graduate of “The Historic Booker T. Washington High School”. In high school, London was a part of the oral history project “These Halls Can Talk” which inspired her to learn more about the history of her community and the impact that could be made through strategic communication practices.
London continued matriculating at The University of West Georgia in Carrollton. As a student in the School of Communication, Film, and Media, she was apart of Bluestone, UWG’s student-run public relations firm that collaborated with organizations in Carrollton, Douglasville and Newnan that helped to develop her understanding and expertise of utilizing social platforms and digital media to distribute creative, concise and influential messages to community members.
While in her undergraduate studies, London grew a love for writing and content creation and became a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America. After graduating with her Bachelor’s of Science in Mass Communications, she secured a public relations internship at Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau which deepened in the Public Relations arena.
London is currently studying to obtain her Master’s Degree in Digital & Social Media Communications at the University of West Georgia, where she also worked as the social media coordinator for UWG Alumni & Constituent Engagement connecting with UWG alumni through social media and community outreach events.
London believes that the best way to go through life is to grow through it, challenging curiosity and finding inspiration to promote positive change.
