Meet Commissioner

Mereda Davis Johnson

Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson has been a proud resident of South DeKalb County for more than 30 years. During that time, she has built strong relationships throughout the community, earning the respect of residents through her personal and professional service.

On July 14, 2015, Commissioner Davis Johnson was elected to represent DeKalb County Commission District 5, filling a two-and-a-half-year vacancy. She was re-elected on November 8, 2016, with overwhelming community support.

She currently serves as Chair of the County Operations (OPS) Committee and is a member of the Employee Relations and Public Safety (ERPS) Committee and the Finance, Audit and Budget (FAB) Committee.
