Demetrius McCoy, Sr.

Demetrius McCoy is a dedicated public servant and a proud native of DeKalb County. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia, where he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Demetrius holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy.
He is also a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, Bright Futures Leadership Development Program. Demetrius began his public service career advocating for veterans in the Office of Congressman John Barrow. With over 10 years of experience, he has served in the DeKalb County CEO’s office and now works as Chief of Staff to Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson. In his current role, Demetrius oversees the day-to-day operations of the District office, manages the budget, handles Boards and Commission appointments, and drives the Commissioner’s policy initiatives. Beyond his work in public service, Demetrius serves as Lead Pastor of Redemption Life Church  and is a small business owner. 
 
Demetrius and his wife, Dr. Mariah Crew McCoy, are the proud parents of two sons, Demetrius Jr. and Malik Chase.
 

Demetrius Pinkett

Demetrius Pinkett Jr. is a community-focused leader, public servant, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of residency in DeKalb County, Georgia. A proud graduate of Cedar Grove High School, he earned his Bachelor of Science from Benedict College, where he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Alpha Pi Leadership & Honor Society, and M.A.L.E.S. In 2016, he was selected for Benedict College’s Foreign Exchange Program, residing in Buenaventura, Colombia for four months.

Demetrius currently serves as Director of Constituent Services for Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson, operating at the intersection of policy, service delivery, and citizen advocacy. In this role, he works to ensure residents have equitable access to county resources while strengthening transparency and trust between local government and the community.

In addition to his public service, Demetrius leads multiple mission-driven ventures focused on economic mobility, housing stability, workforce development, private home-care services, transitional housing, and non-emergency medical transportation for seniors. His work is centered on building sustainable systems that empower families and strengthen neighborhoods.

In 2024, he was selected as a member of the Leadership DeKalb Class of 2024recognized among the county’s emerging leaders in public service and entrepreneurship.

Demetrius holds a Master of Public Administration with a specialty in Nonprofit Management from National University. Grounded in faith and driven by purpose, he remains committed to building infrastructure and opportunities that create generational impact.

London Hornsby

London Hornsby, an Atlanta native, is a graduate of  The Historic Booker T. Washington High School. In high school, she was a part of the oral history project “These Halls Can Talk” which inspired her to learn more about the history of her community and the impact that could be made through strategic communication practices.

London continued matriculating at The University of West Georgia in Carrollton. As a student in the School of Communication, Film, and Media, she was apart of Bluestone, UWG’s student-run public relations firm that collaborated with organizations in Carrollton, Douglasville and Newnan that helped to develop her understanding and expertise of utilizing social platforms and digital media to distribute creative, concise and influential messages to community members. 

After graduating with her Bachelor’s of Science in Mass Communications, she secured a public relations internship at Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau which deepened in the Public Relations arena. She then worked as the social media manager for UWG Alumni & Constituent Engagement while in her graduate studies. 
 
London is now a two time graduate from UWG’s SCFM, as she received her Master’s in Digital & Social Media Communications in Fall of 2024.

Jackson Gamble

Jackson Gamble is an Atlanta native, born in Boston, whose journey blends creativity, communication, and community impact. A proud graduate of Decatur High School, Jackson was a student-athlete who played basketball before continuing his education at the University of West Georgia. There, he majored in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations.
 
After graduating, Jackson launched his career at Babbitt Babbitt Bodner, a leading public relations firm in Atlanta. As part of their dynamic PR team, he played a key role in the grand opening of Signia by Hilton Atlanta — the iconic 40-story hotel located next to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
 
With a strong foundation in public relations and a heart for service, Jackson is passionate about using his voice, skills, and platform to uplift others and make a lasting difference in the lives of people in his community.
