DeKalb Parks Partners with Georgia Department of Natural Resources to Host 3rd Gateway to Fishing Program Aug. 12

DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host a Gateway to Fishing Program, Saturday, Aug. 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Park, 3985 LeHigh Blvd., Decatur, Ga. The event will take place at the fishing pond.

This free event will enhance fishing in metro and suburban parks and other public waters that are easily accessible to home for Georgians. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources strives to partner and host youth fishing classes and improve accessibility for communities to enjoy. The event will also include a display of wildlife and a Mobile Catch Center that will provide fishing equipment and supplies for patrons.

We encourage youth ages 5 to 17 to participate. All patrons under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring water, snacks, a hat, and sunscreen to enjoy a day of fishing.
