DeKalb Board of Voter Registration and Elections Announces Advance Voting Locations, Approve General Election Polling Location Change
DECATUR, Ga.—The DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections (DeKalb BRE) confirmed the location of 16 advance voting locations and changes to one Election Day polling site, during its regularly scheduled meeting on Sept. 8. Advance voting in DeKalb begins Oct. 17 and concludes Nov. 4; weekdays 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Saturdays, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Sundays, noon – 5 p.m. Two advance voting sites; Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur and Clarkston Library will open on Oct. 29until Nov. 4. Election day is Nov. 8.
“We are excited to offer expanded advance voting opportunities that are accessible to voters across the county,” said DeKalb VRE Executive Director Keisha Smith. “We are urging voters to make a plan to vote this election cycle. Whether you are voting by absentee ballot, taking advantage of early voting or casting your ballot on Election Day, please be sure to double check our drop box locations, advance voting sites and your designated Election Day voting site as some locations may have shifted.”
Voters can request absentee ballots by visiting DeKalbVotes.com or by visiting the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov. Completed absentee ballots can be returned via drop box (during advance voting only), mailed back, or hand-delivered to the DeKalb VRE office located at 4380 Memorial Drive, Ste. 300, in Decatur. As a reminder, mailed and hand-delivered ballots must be received by DeKalb VRE by 7 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.
Drop boxes for absentee ballots will be located inside the followings six advance voting facilities: Briarwood Recreation Center, Dunwoody Library, DeKalb VRE’s Office, Gallery at South DeKalb, Stonecrest-Former Sam’s Club, and Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library.

In addition to the 13 polling place changes approved last month, the Board approved an additional change in Chamblee, relocating the Chamblee/Chamblee 2 precinct from the Chamblee Library to North DeKalb Senior Center, located at 3393 Malone Dr in Chamblee. Voters are encouraged to verify their polling place prior to heading to vote on Election Day.
