We had a busy week in the 5th. This week, the board voted unanimously to support my allocation of $600,000 to three Community Based Organizations ( NAACP DeKalb, The People’s Agenda, and First African Community Development Corporation). This allocation is to provide needed assistance to DeKalb residents who may be facing eviction or who may need utility bill assistance. Residents can get assistance by calling one of the aforementioned organizations to file an application for assistance:

I would also like to invite everyone to join us next Saturday, August 28th for our Back to School Uniform Drive. We will provide free uniforms to deserving students in our community. I’ve included the flyer below for more information. 
Finally, I urge you  “Don’t Wait, Vaccinate”! Join our CEO, Micahel Thurmond tomorrow morning from 8:00 – 1:00p at South DeKalb Mall for a free vaccination event. Everyone who gets vaccinated will receive a $100 debit gift card.
