Greetings District 5 Family, Friends, and Neighbors: This week, I announced my Voter Education Town Hall in partnership with Commissioner Robert Patrick which will be held on February 3rd at 6:30 pm. We will introduce our new Board members and our new Executive Director of the DeKalb County Voter Registration and Election Department. We will also receive a Legislative Update on pending voting rights legislation at the federal level, from our Congressman, Hank Johnson. As we approach a critical election year, I encourage you to register for this very important and informative Town Hall meeting. Please click here to register for the webinar. DeKalb County has a vacancy on our Audit Oversight committee and the Board of Commissioners seek candidates interested in applying for appointment to the board. If you are interested or know someone who may be interested please review the qualifications below and email resumes to district5@dekalbcountyga.gov. We want to spotlight businesses and organizations in the 5th District that are making a difference. If you would like us to highlight a business or organization in District 5 that is making significant contributions to our community, please email Zanise Madison in my office at znmadison@dekalbcountyga.gov to be featured in an upcoming edition of our weekly Newsletter.  As always, please share this resource newsletter with your family, friends, and neighbors. Have a fantastic weekend — and don’t forget to wear your mask and “Get Vaxxed DeKalb”! Yours in service,  Mereda
